About Dr. Samantha Green
Care shaped by experience.
Adults 18+ · Individual psychotherapy · Telehealth across California
I'm Dr. Samantha Green, a licensed clinical psychologist. At the heart of my work is the relationship we build together in therapy — compassionate, safe, and grounded in trust.
Education & Research
I earned my master's degree and my doctorate in clinical psychology at Pepperdine University. My doctoral research examined the relationship between attachment and chronic pain; my earlier research focused on childhood adversity and eating disorders. Both continue to shape how I think about the connection between early experience, the body, and emotional life.
My research appears in the Handbook of Wellness Medicine, the Atlas of Psychiatry, and peer-reviewed journals, on topics ranging from mood and personality disorders to substance intoxication and health-related quality of life in young people.
Experience
I have practiced across a range of mental health settings: the bedside at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where I worked with people facing cancer, chronic pain, and crisis; community clinics, where I provided short- and long-term psychotherapy to adults experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, relationship difficulties, and life transitions; and a university counseling center, where I treated students during a formative period of adult life. Along the way I led groups for grief and trauma — and saw, again and again, how much healing happens in relationships.
All of that experience informs my private practice: individual psychotherapy with adults navigating depression, anxiety, relationship distress, life transitions, grief, family concerns, women's issues, fertility challenges, sleep difficulties, and the pressures of demanding lives.
What I find most meaningful is the individual work: sitting with one person, over time, and bearing witness to their growth and healing.
