Frequently asked questions

Who do you work with?

Adults 18 and older, across California — young adults, adults in midlife, and older adults. I provide individual psychotherapy only, via secure telehealth.

What happens on the initial phone call?

We spend 15 minutes discussing what's bringing you to therapy, answering your questions, and getting a sense of fit.

How does telehealth therapy work?

We meet through a secure video platform. You must be located in California at the time of our sessions, in a place where you feel comfortable and have privacy.

How often will we meet, and for how long?

Sessions are 50 minutes, and most clients meet with me weekly. How long therapy lasts depends on what you're working toward — some people come for support through a transition; others choose deeper, longer-term work. We'll revisit this together as we go.

Do you prescribe medication?

As a psychologist, I don't prescribe medication. If medication is something you're using or considering, I'm glad to coordinate with your physician.

Is what I share confidential?

Yes — confidentiality is the foundation of therapy, protected by law and professional ethics, with a small number of exceptions required by law that I'll explain fully before we begin.
